From First Laps to Rookie of the Year: Chelsea Martin’s Racing Journey
At just 19 years old, Chelsea Martin is proving that passion, persistence, and mindset can take you further than talent alone.
Growing up in Shepherd, Michigan, Chelsea was introduced to racing at just two years old. What started as watching races from her dad’s lap quickly turned into a full-blown passion that would shape her future.
She began racing sport compacts at 14 years old—and like many drivers, her first night didn’t go as planned.
“I went laps down… I barely knew how to drive,” Chelsea recalls.
But that didn’t stop her.
Instead, it fueled her.
Fast forward just a few seasons, and Chelsea achieved one of her proudest accomplishments—finishing third in points and earning Rookie of the Year.
But what truly sets Chelsea apart isn’t just her results—it’s her mindset.
She’s learned that every small detail matters. Every adjustment. Every conversation. Every moment at the track.
And perhaps most importantly…
She races for the love of it.
“If you’re doing it for the money—you won’t last,” she says. “You have to love it.”
From balancing college and work to building partnerships with sponsors and fans, Chelsea represents the next generation of women in motorsports.
And she’s just getting started.
